Dusting off this blog to document some bags that I've been working on.
I started making my own bags after I tried to setup a new-to-me Rivendell Redwood as a front-rack-loaded rando-style bike. The load up front affected the handling too much for my liking. About this time I came across some natural and yellow cotton duck canvas at basically free prices. I bought some leather scraps and strips, hand rivet set, and started hand stitching some bags. Also experimented with waxing fabric and have been pleased with the process.
And now some photos...
I used to rebuild bikes to sell. I learned a bit doing this. Now I build bikes for myself and ride them. I prefer riding to building these days.
