I rebuild bicycles in my spare time. I have used this blog as a facet for listings and whatnot.

This will soon change.

I would like this space to be more of an exploration of bicycle building - the intricacies of custom builds, the style and thought that goes into each individual bike.

With that in mind, I will archive past builds from time to time and will occasionally post bikes that may be for sale.

However, I do hope to make this more of a blog where I can share tips, updates and random thoughts on bicycle building and other thoughts in general.

Schwinn Le Tour Luxe Single Speed, 24"/62cm

The base of this build is a Schwinn Le Tour Luxe lugged 4130 butted cro-moly frame. All decals have been removed leaving a plain gray finish. Built up with a 27" alloy wheelset, respaced and redished for a straight single speed chainline. Sports a vintage looking brass riveted Velo saddle. Mustache bars up front give a unique style and many hand positions for long rides. Set up as a coast-able single speed with a 52/17 ratio. This bike is ideal for taller riders, 6'0" and up.

Raleigh Olympian Fixed Gear/Single Speed, 21"/53cm

The base of this build is a nearly pristine Raleigh Olympian frame with a chrome fork. Rebuilt with new components including a Sugino track bottom bracket, gold crankset, and black alloy mustache bars. The wheels are rebuilt as a fixed/free flip/flop set. A IRO/Formula cartridge flip/flop hub laced 3-cross in back and a Shimano 600 hub laced 1-cross up front, both laced to Matrix aero 700c rims. New mustache bars up top give a unique look and offer many hand positions. With a 52 tooth chainring up front, this bike can easily switch between fixed gear and a coast-able single speed with a 52/17 ratio in either setup. Please indicate how you'd like the bike setup - fixed or coast-able.

Nishiki Olympic Fixed Gear/Single Speed, 23"/58cm

The base of this build is an early 70's Nishiki Olympic lugged steel frame in a nice orange color with gold accents. Has ornate lugs that complement the frame nicely. Originally this bike came loaded with mostly steel components. These have been replaced with many new components including a new cartridge bottom bracket, crankset, chain, and saddle. Features a new deep-v silver wheelset with black spokes and a black flip/flop hubset. With a 52 tooth chainring up front, this bike can easily be switched between fixed gear and a coast-able single speed. Please indicate if you'd like the bike set up as a fixed gear or single speed. Both setups will have a 52/17 ratio, a good ratio for flatland riding.
